DIGITAL STAMP CARDS

The stamp card, without the cardboard

A digital stamp card is the same familiar idea (buy enough times, get the reward) plus three things a paper card cannot do: it cannot be lost, it cannot be forged with a pen, and it can remind a customer you exist.

What makes it digital

Each customer has their own card, reachable from a link on their phone. It carries a QR code that is unique to them, which is what staff scan at the counter. Because it is a link rather than an app, there is nothing to download and nothing to update.

The stamps live in the business's own programme, not on the card. That is what makes the balance trustworthy: a stamp is a recorded event with a date and a location, not a mark someone drew.

It also means the reward logic can be as simple or as generous as you want. Eight stamps for a coffee, ten for a haircut, or a milestone on top: extra stamps every time a customer completes an agreed number of cards.

Digital card, paper card, or points app

Paper stamp card

Cheap and understood by everyone, but it gets lost, it can be stamped twice, and it cannot tell you anything. Good for a market stall on Saturday; hard to run as a programme.

Standalone points app

Powerful where a business has the volume and the staff time for it. It usually asks customers to install something and asks you to learn a system bigger than a stamp card needs.

Digital stamp card

Keeps the familiar stamp idea, drops the cardboard. Customers keep it in the browser (or in their wallet once passes are switched on), and the numbers come as a side effect: visits, repeat rate, redemptions.

Where the stamp card lives

In the browser today: customers open their card from the link we email them, and it shows the live balance and their own QR code.

The planned Apple and Google Wallet passes carry your branding and the member’s QR code, with a link to the card for their current balance. Autivia handles activation; availability is confirmed during setup.

Stamp card questions

Can a customer cheat by screenshotting the QR code?

A screenshot of the customer's own card is their card, so that is not cheating — it is the same as showing the card. What the system does prevent is the same stamp being counted twice in a row, and any correction is logged with a reason.

Can I run different stamp cards in the same shop?

One active stamp programme runs per business, with one reward threshold. Locations within that business share the rules. A points programme can have several rewards at different point costs.

Do we still keep paper cards for people without a phone?

That is your call, and some businesses do run both for a while. Autivia does not manage paper cards, and the numbers you see only reflect digital ones.
